The Lassen County Department of Child Support Services (Lassen County DCSS) was recently honored as a 2021 California State Association of Counties (CSAC) Challenge Award recipient at the CSAC Annual Conference in Monterey, CA. The Challenge Award spotlights California county programs that have identified a challenge and implemented an innovative solution that can be replicated by other programs throughout the state and beyond. Lassen County DCSS was honored for their Fatherhood Outreach Initiative that seeks to improve communication to fathers who are part of the child support program.
This year, CSAC reviewed 433 award entries, the most in the history of the award, and ultimately honored 52 programs from 22 different counties. Lassen County was among only four other programs in the Health & Human Services category to win a Challenge Award and was recognized for the excellent work taking place in their rural county.
California Child Support Services congratulates Lassen County DCSS Director, Kelley Cote, and her team for their dedication to improving the child support program.
